Good afternoon, friends, and Happy Fall Equinox!

There are three key transits happening today:

1. Mars enters his home sign of Scorpio (co-ruled by Pluto)

2. The Moon conjoins Mercury in Libra

3. The Sun enters Libra, beginning the season of Fall! Happy birthday season, Libras!

Okay, let’s get into...the astrology

(all times are in Eastern time unless mentioned otherwise)

We are going to unpack these three transits all at once, while looking at the Fall Equinox chart, below.

The Sun enters Libra today (11 o’clock), Mars enters Scorpio (10 o’clock), and the Moon meets up with Mercury in Libra (between 10-11 o’clock).

Mars Enters Scorpio

Mars left social Libra and entered intense Scorpio early in the morning at 3:54 am ET, and he immediately began to engage Pluto in Aquarius retrograde in a square, and form quincunxes to both Uranus retrograde and Neptune retrograde, forming a YOD1, one in which Mars is the pressure point.

Mars square Pluto retrograde could bring up something in our desires that we’ve been sweeping under the rug for a while. This square will expose it and force us to look at it with deep introspection, and it could be explosive, passionate, and intense. So, do your best and try not to push things out into the open unless you are ready to deal with the raw truth. Mars square Pluto can also result in accident, injury, or the violent or forceful purgation of something, so do be mindful this whole week while this energy is activated.

With the concurrent YOD between Mars, Uranus, and Neptune (both retrograde), this could represent that whatever is exposed, revealed, or unearthed is shocking or unbelievable.

With the Sun going into Libra this afternoon, the sign of the scales, judgment, and balance are the themes, so make your choices wisely, use common sense when evaluating facts and data, and trust your gut instincts. Some things may have been hidden for far too long and are about to be exposed and aired out for all to see.

Mars will be in Scorpio until November 5, 2025. So, that means that the next two months will be all about power, hunger, and our primordial desires. Things could feel more edgy, deeply passionate, intense, and transformational.

Moon Meets Mercury

The Moon in Libra conjoined Mercury at 7:35 am ET, symbolizing a harmony between our emotions and our thoughts and a desire to connect with friends, family, and spouses. It is possible with this strong Libra influence between the Moon and Mercury that we may have some really pleasant conversations, interactions, and experiences with people today. Working with others on projects or via artistic creative expression could go really well.

Sun Enters Libra: The Autumn Equinox Begins

The Sun leaves the pragmatic, organized, and detail-oriented sign of Virgo today at 2:19 pm ET, and enters the indecisive, social, and charming sign of Libra, which also happens to be the Sun’s fall position and the Autumn Equinox, marking the beginning of fall.

The Sun in Libra shifts the storyline, first into the house that Libra rules in our natal and Solar Return charts, and thus activating those topics; Second, it’s also a time for more diplomacy, conversations for peace, and appreciating the beauty all around us. I love this time of year as the days start to get shorter and cooler after the equinox. The leaves turn colors and drop to the ground, adorning the Earth in a different type of beauty than that of summer. We naturally want to socialize and share the bounties of summer by enjoying the harvest with family and friends. It can be a fun season!

After the Sun enters Libra this afternoon, he will begin his opposition to Neptune retrograde, which will perfect tomorrow morning. Sun opposite Neptune can feel weakening, like a wave is washing over our internal fire, and we have to make a decision to get out of the water or let ourselves be drowned out. Because the Sun will also engage in the grand air trine aspects to Uranus and Pluto, both retrograde, right after this opposition, I think that symbolizes getting out of the water and getting dried off, thankfully.

To be honest, I am feeling pretty drained after my mega-writing weekend for the Solar Eclipse and wasn’t sure if I could show up today, but I made it! How are you feeling? Drained, fatigued, or tired? If so, you’re not alone. Hang in there for the cosmic blow-dryer (the grand air trine coming on Tuesday and Wednesday).
